Meet the Transit Team
Boozhoo, my name is Jessica Bigboy. I am the support specialist at Bad River Transit. I have been working in the Transit department for almost 7 years. As the support specialist I handle many things from billing, to scheduling rides for our passengers as well as helping with the everyday tasks and duties that are needed in our office. I feel the transit department is just one of the many departments that are much needed here in our community. As many of you know, transportation plays a big role in everyday living. For some, our bus is their only means of transportation.

I couldn’t imagine how tough it would be if we were not lucky enough to have this program in our community. Our bus routes cover a large area, from Birch Hill and all the way through the city of Ashland. We are a public transportation system on a fixed route with deviations. Which means we have a route that the drivers follow and are only able to deviate off their bus route up to a quarter mile if we have time and only for people with disabilities (which are to be approved through the mobility manager).
I am also a child passenger safety technician. As a technician we help educate parents as well as children on how important it is to be transported correctly. We teach people how to correctly choose and install a child restraint. We also try to help with providing seats to those that are in need of child restraints. There are also two other technicians located at the Transit building that assist with this program. We also have technicians located at the Bad River Health and Wellness Center.
